If you love live performances and want the feeling of being whisked away to Paris, take a visit to the French blog LaBlogotheque. They've got the best "take away" performance videos I've seen on the internet. I'm so hooked!
I'm really loving all of the music that Jakub's posting over on the ISO50 blog. I've been in dire need of some new music to listen to at work (I guess I finally outplayed my Pandora stations), and was so pleased to find this gem of a playlist. I'll be listening to this on heavy rotation this week in the studio. It's Bliss.
My friends tell me, most of the music I listen to are from artists that they've haven't heard before. So let me corrupt your ears just a "little".
Starting with Little Dragon, an indie band from Gothenburg Sweden. From the moment I first heard the song "Twice", I fell in love with their unique sound and self titled album immediately. Maybe you will too.
If so, then be sure to check out Love Cartier's site. They're giving out a free download of their song infinite love (not on their album). On the international "love" playlist. There are also some nice free tracks by Thomas Dybdahl, Grand National, Hawksley Workman, Pheonix and others.
I recorded this Radiohead from the basement performance on VH1 late night a few weeks ago. There aren't too many bands that sound even better live, but Radiohead is one of them. I was secretly wishing that this would be released on disc, since I've watched it a few times now. So, I was really thrilled to find out yesterday that they've released these live tracks on itunes this week. It's a gorgeous live album peformance: In Rainbows - From the Basement. I had it on a loop yesterday in the studio, it's just so good I had to share.
